Excursions

marrakech – essaouira

Meet your driver at 8:30 AM in front of your hotel or riad to start your excursion to Essaouira. Leaving Marrakech, the landscape changes: vineyards and olive trees give way to argan trees as you approach the coast. Along the way, you will pass through small lively towns, local trading hubs. After passing Chichaoua, the journey alternates between straight stretches and curves before the ocean suddenly reveals itself. From the hills surrounding Essaouira, you can admire the bay where the city is nestled. Upon arrival, you will explore the ancient medina, characterized by its salt- and wind-worn walls. Stroll through the labyrinthine streets with white houses and blue doors, where getting lost is as easy as finding your way. The picturesque aspects of Portuguese architecture, the bastions emerging from the wave-beaten rocks, and the peaceful atmosphere create a charming and fascinating ambiance. Follow the seagulls to the port, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the beach stretching out in front of the city. Return to Marrakech in the afternoon.

Excursions

marrakech – ait ben haddou

At 8:00 AM, meet your driver near your hotel or riad for an adventure heading south. After crossing the pass, the road descends towards the Aït Ben Haddou Ksar, a superb example of fortified architecture listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. Dominating a hill of sandstone by the Onila River, the Ksar unfolds in all its splendor. After leaving the car and crossing the new village, you will reach the entrance to the ancient fortified city. Explore the narrow streets lined with kasbahs adorned with geometric patterns and arches sculpted from clay, and climb up to the old granary, once the last bastion in case of a siege. After the visit, get back in the car for a return to Marrakech through increasingly varied landscapes. You will arrive in the city in the late afternoon.
