After breakfast, begin exploring the Royal Palace Gate and then the old town of Fes, also known as the Medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enter the medina with a local guide to visit two Islamic and historical schools in Fes: Bou Inania and Al-Attarine, which date back to the 14th century. See the Najjarine fountain, the tanneries, and the Quaraouin mosque and university, considered to be the oldest university in the world. Visit the old Jewish quarter of Fes, "the Mellah," to see the Jewish cemetery, the Synagogue Ibn Danan, and learn about the history of the Jewish community in Morocco. End your day by watching the sunset from Borj Nord, a fortress that offers stunning panoramic views of the city. Finally, return to the Riad for an overnight stay.
